With "Giai Nhân" collection, designer Đỗ Long tells stories of historical Vietnamese beauties through his keen fashion lens. Inspired by intricate details of traditional attire, the art of narced, weaving techniques, and the floral artistry of Southern Vietnam's four-panel painting - a traditional Vietnamese art form that consists of four separate panels - he breathes new life into eveningwear. His approach offers a fresh and unique twist on party dress design, setting his creations apart from anything seen before.

On the evening of May 26th, designer Đỗ Long's "Giai Nhân" show officially took place in the ballroom of Reverie Saigon. The collection had already stirred up excitement in the fashion community, presenting the idea of retelling the stories of historical beauties through a modern lens. Continuing the theme of "Saigon Beauties," the collection opened with supermodel Minh Triệu in an impressive gown with a dramatic skirt, featuring delicately crafted gold details that created a cohesive and striking look.

In this collection, designer DO LONG brings intricate weaving and knotting details, creating a harmonious blend of fashion and traditional beauty.
The first part of the collection features practical designs crafted from high-quality fabrics like chiffon, tulle, and organza. These materials are combined with cinched waists and peplum dresses, evoking the elegance of ladies from past centuries. Additionally, asymmetrical tops and naturally wrinkled fabric techniques are used to create stunning 3D pleats.
One of DO LONG's signature details featured in this show is the printing and embellishment of women silhouettes directly onto the garments, showcasing his celebration of the female silhouette. The diamond-shaped patterns are created through various techniques such as weaving, fabric draping, or beading, offering a fresh perspective on incorporating familiar elements.

The second part of Đỗ Long's collection dazzles with its intricate and elaborate designs, showcasing his mastery in embellishments and silhouette crafting. Drawing inspiration from traditional attire details, nacre inlay art, weaving techniques, and the floral artistry of Southern Vietnam's four-panel paintings, Đỗ Long introduces a fresh and unique style. This innovative approach brings a captivating blend of cultural heritage and modern fashion, setting his latest collection apart from anything seen before.
Designer Đỗ Long and his team began conceptualizing this stunning collection in late 2023, but it wasn't until early 2024 that the ideas, sketches, and designs came to life. Throughout this creative journey, the team immersed themselves in the rich cultural heritage of Vietnam. They meticulously researched and integrated striking motifs from nacre inlay art, the traditional four-panel paintings, and intricate weaving techniques into the garments. The result is a beautiful fusion of cultural artistry and modern fashion, harmoniously celebrating Vietnam's unique heritage through each meticulously crafted piece.
The "Giai Nhân" collection by Đỗ Long brings a fresh twist to traditional silhouettes, focusing on innovative designs of áo dài and halter neck styles. These pieces blend classic elegance with modern allure, offering a unique take on traditional Vietnamese attire.
The collection also features special materials that have been meticulously processed by Đỗ Long's team, ensuring each piece stands out. True to his signature style, the collection includes seductive embellishments and bold cutouts, highlighting Đỗ Long's mastery in creating captivating and sophisticated designs.

"I'm known for my sensual style, but incorporating this into traditional garments like the ao yem and ao dai required careful consideration. I wanted to create a harmonious blend that the public would embrace, ensuring that the use of traditional materials and stories was both tasteful and respectful. I believe we've achieved that balance beautifully," he added.
